E-08 Error Code: Powers on but doesn't goUpdated 3 hours ago

E-08 Error Code – Hall Sensor Issue

The E-08 error code typically indicates a communication issue with the motor’s hall sensor.

Common Causes:

  • A loose or damaged connection between the motor and wiring harness
  • A loose or damaged connection between the wiring harness and controller
  • Dirt or debris within a connector
  • Temporary system fault which may be triggered if connections are adjusted while the system is powered on. In some cases, this can also occur even when powered off, as a small residual current may still be present in the system.

Common Symptoms:

  • Unable to change assist levels
  • Throttle does not function
  • Pedal assist does not engage

In most cases, the system will power on normally, but no power is delivered to the hub motor.

Troubleshooting Steps

1.  Power off the system
Turn off the bike completely.

2.  Remove the battery
Remove the battery and allow the system to fully discharge for at least 2 minutes

3.  Inspect motor connection
Locate the cable connecting the motor to the main wiring harness. Disconnect the plug and inspect for dirt or debris. Ensure the 9-pin connector is intact and that no pins are bent or damaged. Align the arrows → ←, and reconnect the plug securely, making sure it is fully seated.

4.  Inspect controller connection
Locate the connection near the rear of the bike where the main wiring harness connects to the controller. Disconnect and inspect this connection as well, checking for debris or damaged pins. Align the arrows → ←, and reconnect the plug securely, making sure it is fully seated..

5.  Reinstall the battery and power on the system
Check to confirm the error code is no longer present and that normal operation has resumed

Still Having Issues?

If the error persists after completing the steps above, further diagnosis may be required. Please contact your local dealer or customer support for additional assistance.
