E-Bike Battery Return Policy
E-bike batteries are non-returnable. J&B does not accept returns under any circumstances — whether new, defective, damaged, or otherwise unusable.
Under no conditions should any battery be returned to J&B by any means.
Conditions & Circumstances:
- Customer ordered by mistake or no longer needed:
- No return, refund, or credit
- Do not pickup, deliver or ship back to J&B
- JBI employee order entry mistake:
- No return, but may be eligible for refund or credit with management approval
- Do not pickup, deliver, or ship back to J&B
- Received with damage:
- No return, but may be eligible for refund or credit with management approval
- Do not pickup, deliver, or ship back to J&B
- A freight claim may be required
Important Reminders
- E-Bike Batteries are non-returnable – J&B does not accept returns under any circumstances, whether new, defective, damaged, or otherwise unusable.
- Hazmat Regulations – Lithium-ion batteries are regulated as hazardous materials under the U.S. DOT regulations. Per 49 CFR, hazmat training is required to legally transport these batteries.
- JBI Reps – Never pick up, transport, or otherwise facilitate the return of an e-bike battery.
- Bike Shops – Never ship or deliver any e-bike battery back to J&B by any means.
Workarounds and Best Practices
- Bottom Line – There is no safe or legal workaround for non-trained reps or dealers to return e-bike batteries. This is why our No Returns Policy is in place.
- Redirect to Recycling – If a battery truly isn't needed or wanted, it should be recycled responsibly (e.g., Call2Recycle, which J&B actively supports). This avoids unsafe or illegal returns
E-Bike Battery Credits
If a dealer has an e-bike battery, whether, new, defective, damaged, or otherwise unusable, where credit may be due, follow this process:

- During a regular rep visit, confirm the condition of the battery using the approved troubleshooting guidelines

2. Documentation
- Record the bike or trike serial number.
- Record the battery serial number.
3. Credit Issuance
- If deemed eligible, issue applicable credit
- Proof of recycling is not required for a credit to be issued
4. Accounts without an assigned Rep
- If an account doesn't have an assigned outside rep, this may be completed by phone with our Customer Service Manager in Miami, FL., or handled by the local facility's Assistant Manager or General Manager.
E-Bike Battery Recycling
- Advise the dealer to recycle the old battery with Call2Recycle or another locally available method as long as it is done responsibly and is consistent with applicable local regulations.
- J&B is a participating member of the Call2Recycle e-bike recycling program, and any J&B dealer can join this program for free and have e-bike batteries recycled for free.
- Proof of recycling is not required for a credit to be issued.
